I submitted my 30 day notice of intent to vacate on 4/3/09. I received a call from Miss Maria on 4/6/09 saying that it would be fine if I stayed at Stillwater if nothing came of my new apartment search. If not, my move would be 5/4/09. I called the office on 5/1/09 after I picked up my keys to my new place and told them I would be moving 5/4/09 and would be completely out before 5/8/09 since I would like to clean and make sure everything was properly in order at my departure. However, Ms. Debbie called about 4:30 on 5/1/09 and says, ""I have some bad news, if you don't move out today I will have to charge you for May's rent."" I asked her about the grace period and the information Ms. Maria gave on 4/6 concerning my 30 day notice and she said it did not matter b/c I signed my lease. True enough but why would they wait until 5/1/09 to tell me to move out?? I was furious but I quickly and politley complied. I took her the keys. She asked if I still had to get my stuff out and I responded yes, I still have to pack. I got packed and moved the same day. Even though it was about to rain I moved all of my things out to our uncovered pick up truck and trailer. It begins to rain and I lost my couches. Everything got wet, but it was somewhat salvageable. I have to get my mattress, box, spring and dinette chairs steam cleaned and reupholstered b/c of the rain. My aggravation with the situation is the heartless, inconsiderate and disrespectful manner in which I was treated by Debbie Kobernaus. I have called her superiors and have yet to receive response so the next call they will receive will be my attorney's. If I requested May 4th as a move out date and it was not in compliance with my lease, I should have been informed prior to May 1st or at least extended the courtesy of a proration since the weather was not conducive for a move. I am requesting my security deposit in full so I can purchase new furniture. After all of that, I did as she asked and left the apartment beautifully. I can at least get some of my money back, if not all of it. That was a horrible way to be treated since I have never had anything bad to say about Stillwater Park Apartments until now!! Debbie should not be in customer service if she does not like the species which make for customers, PEOPLE, Human Beings. Absolutely ridiculous. But I am glad God was able to show me how much He lives in me because if it were not for Him and His hand on my life, I would have mangled her for sure. I hope she gets saved because of the way my response to her ignorance reflected that God really is real. I pray He blesses her and not curses her b/c that was foul! Pros: Miss Maria Cons: Miss Debbie
