Some background information - Took my two pets to her. One was a foster pet I had from the SPCA. Before adopting a pet the SPCA's vets give clearance and have the animal examined. The dog had an ear infection and needed his nails trimmed. Over $400 later, I was told the dog had mange, double ear infection, some other health ailment and was charged $12 to clip his nails, which only seemed to be BARELY filed. I watched the tech do it and she didn't have enough patience to complete the task properly. At check-out, I was told the amount due, which was startling, but I planned to pay it in full because no one told me I had any other alternatives. I wrote a check, which the office ran through telecheck and all was okay. At the time I was going through a separation with my husband and he stopped payment on several checks going through our bank account at the time...one of which being the check to the vet. I didn't know until weeks later and called their office. No return phone call. I assumed they would contact me in return to make arrangements for the payment. I had planned to simply bring the payment in cash to their office. However, none of this happened. The vet immediately sent my account to her ""attorney"" (who seems to be a friend or relative based upon his strong opinions of the vet as such a GREAT person, etc.. No one from the vet ever contacted me. This was a situation that couldn've been handled...not a ""bounced check"". To make matters worse, the vet either unintentionally or intentionally misdiagnosed the dog I was fostering. He did not have mange! Yet, that was the most expensive diagnosis and test out of the services rendered during my pet's visit! I took my pet to another vet who adamently denied any sort of skin disorder. NOW, the vet is refusing to release my pet's records to me or another animal clinic! My pet needed to get heart worm preventative. The new vet needed to see the negative heartworm test result, but Cy-Fair refused! Pros: extended hours Cons: everything else! She bad-mouthed my dog's breed the entire time I was there!
