I love the Farmer's Market. First, it's nice to know that you support the local economy and the local farmers. You can always look up their website to see what is in season along with a lot of other helpful hints, recipes, information, etc. My family and I try to go every week to get our produce for the week. Whatever produce you buy, they will last 2 - 3 times longer than your grocery store bought produce. A lot of times prices are better too. Example, red and yellow bell peppers are 1/2 what you would pay for in the grocery store. Also, if you go very early like 4-5am, you can find farmers selling crates of a specific veggie for a great price. These are great to split with friends or donate to shelters. Other bulk items which are a great buy are the 20-40 pound boxes of sweet potato. During the summers, the melons and peaches are absolutely amazing. And winter time you can buy a variety of apples. Besides the produce, you can find, plants, herbs, flowers, baked goods, finished goods like jams, butters, preserves, etc. All around a great place for the family. OH, one more great plus...the Seafood restaurant. Tons of food for a great price. Our whole family shares one large plate and we bring home leftovers. The breading is just right and for those who don't want fried food, they do have broiled platters. Their sweet tea is also fantastic. If you like Kemp's Seafood, you'll like this place. I believe they are the same owners.
