Review content:
We visited The Picnic on Saturday for lunch. Upon arriving, we held back in the line as we didn't immediately know what we wanted which earned us a disapproving look from the cashier. We were not in the way of the flow of people (it wasn't really that crowded). I intended to order the BLT and a cup of soup. However, the cashier followed my order up with ""which side?"" which lead me to believe it came with a side...not the case and i ended up with more food than needed and more expense than necessary. As I'm allergic to eggs, I asked for no mayo, to which she replied ""you wouldn't get any mayo."" Again, just unnecessary. If I would have walked into any other cafe and not indicated no mayo on a BLT, it would have had to be sent back. As soon as we get our food, my friend had pickles on her plate and I indicated that I wanted some. She gave me half her pickles, but I knew she wanted them for herself--I know this sounds ridiculous, but stick with me. So, I asked the server if I could get my own pickles to which she replied, ""you have some right there."" This was the kicker. Why would you insult the intelligence of your customer over a few pickles? I couldn't believe it. This place just exudes inhospitableness. The food was average, though my fresh fruit was nicely presented. The tortilla soup was slimy and full of chunks of processed meat. Overall, a miserable lunch experience.
