We tried China Bistro tonight as my husband had been dying to try this lovely little restaurant. It is tucked in a small, unassuming strip mall on Babcock. Upon entering you'll notice how cozy and welcoming of an atmosphere China Bistro promotes. You are also pleasantly greeted and everyone there is very gracious; very much concerned about your experience. Since it was our first time, the owner even came to chat with us after dinner. The food is very good, fresh and deliciously prepared. I ventured a bit outside my comfort zone and while I am not usually a fan of green and red peppers, the food was excellent, wonderfully cooked and presented. You cannot beat the price and if you choose the dinner special (4pm to close) you receive soup, fried rice, entree, egg roll or crab rangoon or sweet and sour pork for around $7. You also receive the little fried crunchies with your soup. We were simply shocked when our server brought out our dinner. The portions were HUGE. I mean we left with four boxes of leftovers and we are not little eaters! At any rate, try this place - you will not be disappointed by this quiet, very clean, very welcoming restaurant. Another plus is that they do NOT use MSG in their food preparation. We are big Chinese food lovers - both Chinese American dishes as well as authentic Chinese dishes. We have enjoyed Chinese food in some of the best places across the US and Canada. . We have also had the pleasure of eating in China, specifically the Hunan and Guangdong provinces. China Bistro is definitely a cut above with their cozy atmosphere, their awesome food, and their fabulous service! If we could rate this restaurant with 6 stars, we would!!! Pros: Excellent food, great service, enormous portions, very welcoming atmosphere
