I've been a frequent customer at Nikki's in East Village and the Viet-Nam Banh Mi So 1 in Nolita. I liked Nikki's for its convenience to my apartment but found their classic sandwich's pate was a bit fishy tasting, and opted for their portobello instead. I preferred Viet-Nam Banh Mi for it's spicy #3 sandwich, not to mention the awesome price of $3 per huge sandwich. However, finding a place to enjoy the delicious rubber banded package was sometimes difficult, especially with the rain these days... I was walking down Christopher St. (a walk I do often) and stumbled upon this bahn mi sandwich place. I loved the name, and since bahn mi sandwiches are my favorite, I decided to try the classic sandwich. I was impressed! The ingredients are fresh, and the pate they use for the classic sandwich is tasty. I ordered mine spicy, and it had jalapenos in it, which I like, but be careful it's very spicy! Also a big plus is the nice interior. There are booths in the back room for larger parties and high bar stools with tables for 1-2 people who are just grabbing a bite. The staff is very friendly. Pros: yummy sandwiches, cheap, good atmosphere
