Review content:
We've eaten at Maggiano's several times and have always loved the food. The portions are big, and when you eat family style, the food just won't stop coming. Having the minimum group of 4 people is perfect for family style because everyone gets to choose a couple of favorites without a lot of negotiation. I can't believe they let you take leftovers when you order family style. We usually get at least two more meals out of that! When just my husband and I go, we usually split a salad, meal, and dessert and get plenty to eat for not a bad price. Of my approximately 20 trips there, I have only had poor service once. I was with girlfriends on a Sunday afternoon, and the server did not seem to want to be there. It wasn't nearly as busy as it can be, but he was slow and resented being asked for anything. The only thing I don't like is that the tables downstairs are way too close together. A lot of big groups eat there, and it is easy to get trapped (not easily able to cut a path to the restroom) or just claustrophobic with your chair practically touching someone else's.
Pros: Ample portions, family style option
Cons: crowded arrangement, located in Durham while I live in Raleigh
