When my mom and I walked into the Parlor Salon, the people there seemed friendly and reasonably good at what they did. What followed was the worst color job of my life, for $180 dollars, no joke, just for hair color, not even a cut! We booked an appointment with an older lady with short brown hair. She was going to give me two colors of highlights to take the red out of my hair. While she was doing the highlights, she threw hair in my face half the time and scratched my face with the comb. Plastic clips to hold the hair, nonexistent. She put me under the heater, and large black blobs dripped from the cheap white paper she used to hold the color on. They dripped down my face and into a pile on the smock. I was lucky they didn?t leak through. She came by, then turned it up the heater to an unbearable heat, searing my forehead. When she finally rinsed it off, the ?light brown? highlights she added turned out blonde. She put in a toner to try and fix it.. but it didn't fix it entirely. I wasn't getting a hair cut, so then she blew my hair dry. She ripped at my head with the brush, and I don?t know how, but she made it rattier with every stroke instead of straighter. When all was over, I tried to be polite. We had come here because my mom had been a customer a few years back and found it cheaper than our current salon, Intrigue Salon and Spa. I figured maybe 75, $80. I couldn?t believe my ears when I heard, ?That?ll be $180?!!!!!!!!!! $180 for two colors of highlights. Not even a haircut. I?ve been ripped off traveling in other countries, but here in my own community? I paid them. I left. Don?t go expecting a cheap haircut, and don?t even go expecting nice and expensive. If you want nice, go to Intrigue. I regret, now, going anywhere else. They give a good haircut and coloring for MUCH LESS than 180. If you want inexpensive but decent, go to Great Clips. I don't recommend the Parlor, except for fools.
