Review content:
I've been going to Gene for a number of years, and have taken all sorts of cars to him for routine maintenance and the occasional oddball job of an engine swap or transmission replacement. I owned a Lotus Esprit years ago, and Gene had no trouble working on it and identifying where most of the parts came from. (Old Lotus owners will understand what I'm talking about). He's been able to take care of my tire, muffler, and alignment needs as well, and for things he's not equipped to handle (aluminum welding, radiator repair), he's got good knowledge of other available sources. Turnaround time is always prompt. As a side note I was there for a routine oil change one day, and I witnessed an old Mercury Cougar that had been towed in. Apparently the elderly woman who had owned it was quoted over three thousand dollars in engine work. Gene popped the hood and did some fiddling around to verify the claims. It turned out that it was just a burned out relay. Good thing she had gone to Gene instead of shelling out all that cash at the dealership. I've found that dealerships seem to have a 'replace it instead of troubleshooting' mentality, even if the answer is something as simple as a relay. In this case, it really worked out for the best. Highly recommended.
Pros: fast service, good prices
Cons: not as convenient if you don't live in bellevue
