Review content:
I would like to say that we enjoyed (or didn't) the food at Rodded, but after 30 minutes we were informed by the waitress that our order was not ready because they had, ""many to go orders today"". (There was one man waiting for a to go order.) Ten minutes later she asked if we wanted some soup because the order would be ten minutes more because they were ""so busy"". Would we be expected to pay for the soup, she smiled, nodded yes and informed us that the soup would also take some time but might be 'few minutes' quicker than our order. We said ,""No thanks."" The other five tables of customers were all served by this time and eating. We had done nothing wrong, simply sitting there, waiting until this point, patiently. When 45 minutes had gone by I called the waitress over and asked if they had even started our order yet. Smiling and rolling her eyes she said, ""No. Sorry, very busy."" My husband and I are a middle class, middle aged couple, so don't think we are a couple of loonies or that we were being 'refused service'. This was all just their inability to deal with one to go order and fifteen other customers! At this point I said, ""Just cancel our order, we're leaving."" The waitress started to protest when a woman who appeared to be the owner rushed out and yelled at the waitress, ""Let them go, we so busy. Forget it!! Let them leave, doesn't matter."" At 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon with a plentiful wait staff and only five tables of two or three people who were already served, the experience had a surreal quality. So...is the food good? I was never given any after almost an hour long wait, so I can't say. I'll tell you this though, DON'T go when it's ""busy"" or this place will ruin your day.
