Review content:
I'm still reeling from today's terrible experience. Some really poor wk on 2 pairs of boots cost $89. After an unpleasant response to my inital feedback, I expressed distress 4 shoddy work and left. After thinking about it, and get opinions on the quality of work, I called back.""We never should have bothered w/ your trashed shoes."" And b/c I called after leaving I was told that I was ""hiding behind the phone."" Followed by, ?I bet you want your money back. Well that?s not happening.? All of this & more before I was hung up on. I called back to express appall at what a complaint invoked. 1 pair of boots needed gluing b/c of tears. BUt does that ok visible globs of glue? ?Well, they look a whole lot better than they did when you brought them in.? The 2nd pair needed soles. The new soles mismatch the boot. The heels, originally a natural wood were touched up vs. reheeled, left nicked & peeling & were painted over w/ the same drk chocolate stain used on the other pair. Grr. Too, the sole was randomly discolored by a sloppy app of the heel stain. The leather upper was scuffed & greased, from the lathe? When asked if the leather could b saved, the response was, ?just polish them.? Then I was somehow blamed for poor quality b4 being hung up on. When I called back the cobbler answered. We spoke about finding remedy. I could bring them back but would not be refunded. I said, ?wow.? He yelled, ?Did you say I?m wrong?? Easy people! It was too much to continue, hence that the end of this customer trying to find justice for very poor services. I patronize Swanson?s in order 2 support sm biz. After the gross of today, I'm stunned they?ve been open for 80 yrs. They should be ashamed to be carrying on w/such little integrity or respect for their customers. I can only assume the founder would be terribly embarrassed by what their legacy has become. This is 1 sm biz will never frequent again, gladly traveling elsewhere for kindness, consideration, & a job well done.
Cons: Very rude, angry people who pay very little attentiont their craft or customers
