Review content:
I've eaten at Charlies Chili branches (the ones in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, both) many times from 1973 to present. While the food and service can vary sometimes (on rare occasions, I've had bad food or service here), for the most part the quality of food and and service has remained consistently high. The chili cheese omelets are my favorite for breakfast. For supper, I go for their giant ""chili platter"": chili and buns and fries enough to feed a very hungry person. The world around them continues to change, but Charlies has continued to deliver great chili as the decades roll by.
Pros: Great chili cheese omelet, great ocean views.
Cons: Food quality and service can be variable sometimes.
