Ok, lets start out by saying that as advertised these are cozy AUTHENTIC cabins. I don't know where you are from but log cabin to me does not bring up the picture of Air Conditioning and other little amenities that we leave at home. If I wanted all the bells and whistles of a hotel room I would be staying in a HOTEL. That being said, Ellis Lake Resort is the kind of place that you can go to in order to unwind from the hectic like you may live at home. The cabins are nicely setup with small kitchens and decorated tastefully. I have been going there with my Wife and her family for the past three years and this is their sixth year in a row. The owners are great hosts and make sure their guests are well taken care of. The whole atmosphere of the resort is a peacful one. There is nothing like a soak in the hot tub under the stars or laying on the dock late at night by the lake looking for shooting stars. I know I will be going to Ellis Lake Resort at least once a year for as long as it is around.
Pros: Scenery, nice getaway, friendly staff
Cons: Not able to make it up there enough
