I have been to the Madeira restaurants for many functions ( weddings, baptizms, showers) upstairs on the second floor and have always had a great expeience there. I have to say that my visits there with friends on the first floor have been rather disappointing. Our waiter didn't know how to explain anything to us in English. When we asked him the origins of the very good ""bean cake"" he said "" a bakery in Fall River"". The noise level in the restaurant was unberable, no background music nothing! The prices were good, the desserts were also good, but the food was very average...nothing to brag about.
Pros: good parking, no wait w/reservation, not too expensive
Cons: noisy, no kids menu, service is average
