It took me years to finally be able to purchase a nice door for my house & was excited to find what I wanted at a fair price at Seconds & Surplus. The young man who helped me was kind. However, the door was unfinished & I had planned to have a wood stained finish put on it- at check out was handed a list of contractors and referred to a floor & door guy. BEWARE because when I contacted him apparently he was too busy for my job or throws the smaller jobs off to some (come to find out) alcoholic con artist. He agreed on a price of $300 - more than I should have paid as it turns out, but the door was already installed. He said he'd been doing this kind of work for 30 years - showed up looking pitiful - didn't tape off the beveled glass - planned to do it in one day - & barely put 1 coat of spar finish on the exterior. I had another guy come to see it & tells me it needs more sanding & 2 more coats of finish applied. So to get the job finished I will be out even more money. A horrible experience!!
