I had my first haircut with Jose a couple of days ago. And it was a great experience. I met him at Borrelli Salon where he moved to at the beginning of the year. (8822 Burton Way, Beverly Hills Ca 90211. Phone: 310-278-4430.) I'm a guy and not a huge fan of fancy salons but although Borrelli is of good size it was not intimidating at all. Jose's station felt very private and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. In fact quite the opposite. Jose was very easy to talk to and we had a rapport right away. I like my hair somewhat medium long and basically know how it should be cut so it works for me. Full at the neckline, flat in the middle back, etc, etc. Jose got my drift right away. He did suggest a few things that I liked. On with the cut. When it was all over it was exactly what I hoped for. And scars from scalp surgery 3 weeks ago were completely hidden by the way Jose cut the crown area. Besides being a first class craftsman with a pair of scissors Jose excelled in the way he listened to me and then implemented my wish into the cut. That is a talent many stylists, entry level to very senior, do not always have. I am very satisfied and happy with my first experience, and am looking forward without fear to much more of Jose's scissor-magic.
