This is one great place for sushi. I had my doubts when I walked into the restuarant seeing that it was a bit run down. My attitude took a 180 degree turn once I sat down at the sushi bar and had some of the best sushi ever. I am a very picky sushi eater and I can honestly say that Yamato Ya is one of the best sushi place I have ever been to. If you are into ""fru fru"" sushi, this may not be the place for you. But if you are a true sushi lover, Yamato Ya is a must whenever you are in Anchorage.
