Review content:
I went to Tangles when my stylist of about 3 years, Shelly Hamilton, was getting married and not available. Tangles is supposed to be THE premier salon in Wichita Falls. I suppose if you want to shell out over $100 for a haircut by one of the more experienced stylists, you might be pleased. However, I went with one of the younger girls for all over color and highlights, and asked for a chestnutty-auburn with soft golden blonde highlights. What I got was almost burgundy low-lights and frosty blonde highlights that did not blend at all. On top of that, she didn't color my natural color (which is an atrocious grey-ashy mousy pale brown) so I had not one, not two, but three colors that I didn't like and didn't go well together. My husband, who is normally pretty oblivious, said I looked like a striped bass. And I paid $130 for it. Lesson learned--and I went back to Shelly immediately and paid $90 for her to fix it, which she did with no problems. Shelly's at Serendipity just off of Kell, and I recommend her for both cut and color--she's awesome at what she does and friendly to boot. Tangles, not so much. Although I did dig their very chic atmosphere--which undoubtedly is made possible by charging so much for so-so styling. Pros: Very well-decorated, plus the salon owner meets & greets every new client. Cons: Expensive, even for services by inexperienced stylists.
