My wife and I ate here on New Years Eve, It was a last minute descision so we did'nt have a reservation. It was a busy night but the host made us feel very welcome. We sat at the bar which was great . When we first got to the bar there was this big lamp right by our spot that had like a 100 watt bulb, which was haneous . We asked the bartender if it would'nt be too much trouble if we moved to the other side of the bar. He simply turned the lamp off and it made the whole place/mood and feel fall right in place. I really liked the patterns they chose for the furniture...you'll see...if you go. the food was really good. The menu has Alot to choose from, our selections were really fabulous. So fab that I have to wonder which is my favorite restraunt in Jax [at least of this caliber] Bistro AIX or the new found 1171? I live in avondale and 1171 is right down the street...so 117,1 which I must say, is saying alot. Also I believe 1171 will contribute to making the edgewood strip a more desirable place. theres already Moon River pizza across the street , If Aura Thai would've made it, that strip would already be a great dining area. I wish someone would open a nice lounge/bar other than that creepy Martini's or whatever it is. I'd rather go to the alibi but it's way too smokey in there even when I smoked I could'nt believe ...I'm just rambling now , but please try 1171 , I'd like for them to stay around for a long while. p.s. lose the lamp!
