Review content:
I have visited Fish Gallery and Pets multiple times in the past but haven't purchased much from them. I have found they are not very well stocked and don't have a very good variety of products. Their products are typically overpriced and not worth my purchase. The main reason I have revisited it recently is because they remodeled it and I was hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, my experience was worse than ever. They now have puppies for sale that concerns me. Typically, puppies sold in stores are from Puppy Mills. The employee assured me that these were not puppy mill puppies. That they have a buyer that goes around to local breeders to find puppies for their stores. While talking to this sales person about their puppies I became concerned about the puppies well being. I noticed one puppy there in particular was quite young, and was informed that this puppy had been there for over a week. That would have made the puppy only 6 weeks old when arriving at the store. No decent breeder that I know of would ever sell a puppy to a pet store, especially at such a young age. Which takes me back to the concern of them being from local back yard breeders or small puppy mills nearby. NEVER EVER purchase a puppy from a pet store unless you know for sure the source! sometimes puppies are dropped off by people who weren't breeding on purpose who can't find them homes. These puppies are probably OK. Puppies from puppy mills come from bad quality breeding stock. These quite possibly aren't puppy mill puppies as the associate told me. BUT based on the information I saw the puppies were not high quality puppies. Some were too young which is a HUGE red flag. No GOOD breeder would allow this. So if you are going to pay over $1000 for a puppy (which is what these were going for) go find a good breeder in the area instead. Or, pay way less at a local shelter where they are properly cared for. Pros: Carries high quality pet foods not found at other local places such as Petco. Cons: The quailty of animals for sale worries me. Especially the very young ages of their puppies and kittens.
