Review content:
This was my first time and based off of one of the reviews I thought it would be a safe bet. I will begin though by saying that when I called to get information on their online menu and lunch specials the lady (Melissa) was extremely nice and told me everything that was on the buffet today. Here's the downer...I thought the food was nasty. It didn't taste like Thai food and it wasn't at all appetizing. My co-worker went and selected an array of food for me from the buffet. I had some sort of chicken (resembled an orange chicken or sweet & sour). It was sitting in a bowl of what looked like grease, the breading was mushy from sitting in the liquid, and it was covered in what tasted like store bought flaked coconut (the kind you bake with). The rice was okay but didn't taste like thai fried rice, the ""yakimando"" (looks like a deep fried potsticker) was nasty. It tasted like it was filled with vienna sausage. I still have a horrible taste in my mouth from it. The pepper steak was horrible. The ""steak"" was little chunks of what seemed to be beef stew meat because it was so tough. The only thing I did like was the fried shrimp. It wasn't great. It was just frozen breaded shrimp but it was the only thing that didn't taste bad. I wouldn't call this thai food. It definitely tasted more like chinese food and I hate chinese food. The food was definitly a 1 but the service was a 5. I wish the food would've been good because the people were so nice that it makes me feel bad to write such negative things about the quality of the food. I have to be honest though out of respect to my fellow patrons who like me, don't like to waste money on bad food. One more thing, I love thai food and if anyone is looking for awesome thai food in San Antonio check out Thai Corner off of 1604 & Bandera. My favorite is the drunken noodle. The food is always fresh, delicious, and the facilities are nice too. Very clean and modern. Pros: Nice Service Cons: Food did not taste authentic
