Businiess name:  Firestone Complete Auto Care

Review content:
I'm selling my car so the person who wanted to buy it took it to the Firestone on William Cannon. They told him my car needed new brakes right now when they have at least another 10 k until replacing. They told him the car needed upper and lower ball joints- I just had the lowers replaced last year and have barely put miles on the car since then, told him I need new shocks- yes the shocks are old but they do not need replacing and still function correctly. Told him windshield wipers need replacing- again- they are a few years old but still work great. They told him the pinion seal is leaking which it isn't but I do agree with them that if it were to be replaced the differential probably would quit making noise. So after the dude decided not to buy the car based on what Firestone told him- I immediately took it to the shop which made the repairs- they put the explorer up in the air and showed me the pinion seal which was not leaking- showed me the lower and upper ball joints-which are in great condition-confirmed the brakes have at least 10 k on them- brake work was done in 2008 and I have less than 15k on them- The part I needed was a $18.00 sway tie link kit. I am very mad and am considering legal action. Do not use any Firestone shops in Austin. Do your research on this company as they do not have a very good reputation in Austin. I quit taking my car to them 4 years ago after they had done $1800.00 in work on my vehicle and when I returned for an oil change 3 months later told me I needed the identical work done again- imagine the surprised look on their faces when I pulled out an invoice for the "" work"" they said I needed which they had already performed. The only Firestone I ever had a good experience with is in Dallas on Lovers Lane. If you insist on using Firestone make the drive to Dallas otherwise find another mechanic. I will probably sue them for misleading my car buyer. Cons: Un Needed repairs
