Review content:
After moving to Seattle several years ago, I needed a new optometrist. I went first to Eyes on Fremont. I would say that shopping for hardware was awesome (I got a really cute pair of funky frames!) and the clinical side of the visit was just okay. I felt like I was being talked down to just a little bit. But overall, not an exceptionally good or bad experience. They do have a neat selection of frames, though. So, a year later with a new appointment necessary, I wanted to get more serious about eye health and less concerned with looks. I knew I wanted contacts, since I'll always have my cool frames. I looked around for eye doctors online and found these other favorable ratings for Dr. Andrews. I called and spoke with a really sweet receptionist and had my appointment all set up for the next week. My visit was really awesome. Dr. Andrews is extremely thorough and very thoughtful when dealing with patients. She took the time to help me find a contact type that would help with my dry eyes, explaining what makes one brand or type better than another. She gave me some samples to try out for about a week. I returned for a follow-up and to decide which kind to order. At that appointment, we went through the same procedure we did before, testing the lenses in the machine, you know, ""Which looks better, 1 or 2?"". It seemed that my prescription could remain the same, or change a little for worse but give me a little bit clearer vision. Dr. Andrews mentioned she was hesitant to over correct and I actually agreed. The lens that seemed like it might be better actually made me feel a little nauseous. So, we went back to my original prescription, also the one I've had for a few years (makes me feel better that my vision hasn't gotten worse!). I ordered the contacts and they arrived not long after. I felt Dr. Andrews really cared to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied before making a big purchase. She was more than willing to run through the tests again to make sure the prescription was correct too. I like knowing that my health is more important than a bottom line. Overall, a wonderful medical experience with an excellent doctor. If you're looking for a thorough, professional, and caring optometrist, I highly recommend Dr. Andrews.
