Review content:
When I noticed a Home Depot on 23rd Street I passed it by. Over twenty years ago I ambled into Vercesi on 23rd Street, between Lexington & Third Avenue. Being very skilled female I expected the usual suspicious or patronizing behaviors from hardware staff. That first visit I found employees helping men and women alike. My experience has never changed. They sell a variety of, what seems like, every tool invented. If they don't have what I want they will either order it or know of a place that does, often nearby. Plus, as they sell a variety of good planting supplies. They even have a counter for people who have questions. Vercesi's owner hires people who are knowledgeable and want to learn more. No matter where I live in the city I go to Vercesi (almost all trains stop on 23rd Street). Pros: All thumbs & fingers up! Excellent staff, fine tools, good products, great prices! Cons: None
