They saved my dog's life!!! After finding a very large tumor (which turned out to be malignant) on my dog, I went to a (different) vet that was recommended by my boss- the staff was very nice, and they were good with my dog (who is very skittish), but I didn't feel they were very thorough, so since I was already planning a trip back home, I took her to see our family vet while I was there, for a second opinion. They confirmed that surgery was necessary, so when I got back to DFW, I started the search for a consultation. When I called VCA, Emily informed me that as a new patient, our first visit was free. What a relief - especially after spending lots of money on exams and blood work! We went in for a consultation with Dr. Risley (for the tumor removal), and I was incredibly impressed with everyone there - they are obviously 'animal people' and took great care of my baby. The vet techs are wonderful, and Dr. Risley was very patient with us, taking ample time to answer all of my questions, and he made sure that I understood all of the test results and the diagnosis. After x-rays and a biopsy, I took my dog in for surgery. I was able to take her home the same day, and I could not be happier with her recovery process! I cannot praise VCA enough!! Emily and Kim are amazing techs, and Dr. Risley is an excellent doctor. The thing that most impressed me is when I was picking her up after her surgery, and Dr. Risley was explaining post op care-- he said if I saw anything that worried me to just bring her in. He could have just said 'give us a call', but he didn't, and that is a prime example of the excellent care that VCA Bedford provides. I would recommend them to ANYONE who has a deep love for their pet. And, to those people who give bad reviews based on cost: stop looking for a discount! You're not shopping for a pair of pants!! In my opinion, VCA provides the best care that money can buy!! The peace of mind alone is worth it!
