COMPANY POLICIES Beware!!!! If you find that you have to break your lease (to buy a house, for example), the penalty will be FOUR MONTHS RENT!!! (as much as $5,000.00 total) AND You have to keep the utilities on your name!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!! MAINTENANCE As for maintenance, we had a roof leak this past winter and it took 4 weeks for them to finish fixing it!!! One week they put fans in, the next they tore out the sheetrock, leaving poorly taped up visquine, which made it very cold in the apartment, the next week they installed the sheetrock, and finally the following week they sanded the joints and painted, leaving sheetrock dust everywhere. AMENITIES Don't push too hard on the plug when plugging in your lamp... some of the outlets are not screwed into the framing and will just push right into the wall Cabinet space in the out-dated kitchen is pathetic. The cabinets are cheap, shelves are not adjustable. The dishwasher is noisy. The A/C unit is so loud, one has to up the volume on the TV by ten every time it comes on and turn it down every time it shuts off. PARKING The parking is a nightmare. There is no reserved parking other than the covered spots for which you have to get onto a waiting list. Once obtained, they are at least 40 dollars extra PER MONTH per space. Other than that, if you don't get home before 5:30, good luck getting a parking spot anywhere near the building you live in (Usually you will be parking near the rental office). Oh, and make sure to put your sticker in your windshield before moving in to the apartment, because if you wait until the morning after, you might wake up to find your car has been towed to the tune of over $300.00. SECURITY You might want to invest in a club for your car, as it is not unheard of to have your windows smashed in and g.p.s. stolen. The management?s answer? A flyer saying you should be careful. The grounds are not altogether well lit at night, especially around the often-overflowing dumpsters. They have a forbidden list of dog breeds, but somehow about 75% of the dogs that are owned there are pits...hmmm....interesting....
