Review content:
I came to the Galaxie Jewelers for the first time several years ago. I needed a very unique design of a ring for a pretty large emerald bought in Colombia for my sister. The problem was that the emerald was in a natural state with only one large side and a smaller adjacent side polished; all the rest of the stone was amorphous showing the beautiful deep green color of a nutural stone, but at almost 7 carats made it extremely difficult to accomplish a design to compliment the emerald. I showed the stone to Kip Stodghill and we began talking about the possibilities of making a ring out of an amorphous large stone. His vast experience as a Gemologist, jewelry design, craftsmanship and production of beautiful pieces made me feel that I had come to right place. He explained to me the different steps we were going to go through for the creation of this very unique ring. He then began making different drawings from which I chose one that really took my breath away. I suggested to line-up 5 little princess cut diamonds to one side, changing the design a little, but that was no problem for Kip. He always told me that everything he wanted was for me to have exactly the jewelry piece I had in mind. He prepared a wax model and set the emerald and the 5 diamonds to give me a preview of the final product. When I went to pick up the ring I was stunned by the beauty of the One-Of- A- Kind piece he presented to me. Needless to say my sister's reaction when I gave it to her on her birthday. At the Galaxie Jewelers you don't feel the pressure to buy a piece. Kip and his father Dee take the time to explain to you many things about stones and metals and they answer all your questions for you to reach your final decision. A wonderful experience that made me come back through all these years. Thanks Kip! Pros: Unique designs, vast knowledge of owners, wonderful personalized care Cons: I cannot think of one
