Dr. Winnie Feng and the New York Hearing Center are amazing!
I saw Dr. Winnie Feng last week after becoming frustrated with my original audiologist (first dispensed my hearing aids two years ago for binaural mild-to-moderate hearing loss in both ears, and I have tinnitus) and feeling like I was a cog in a factory after visiting another hearing center in downtown NYC.
Dr. Winnie Feng saw me the same day and her receptionist patiently listened as I rambled on about my concerns.
Dr. Winnie Feng's office is clean and serene. I filled out minimal paperwork and was seen in ten minutes. Dr. Feng really listened to my concerns and complaints and issues with my current hearing aids, hearing in certain situations and advised me on which hearing aids would be best for me to purchase (I went in after getting a hearing test from "the factory hearing center" and had told Dr. Feng I wanted to purchase new aids as backup and have saved for them in my flex spending account--she did not try to sell me on new aids and tweaked the feedback in my old ones!).
She made a custom mold after my complaining about my domes (funny my other audiologists never even suggested and always handed me more ill-fitting domes to "get used to").
I had a concern about a technical feature, and while she said she was 'nearly positive' on the answer, she wanted to be certain and asked if I could wait a few minutes while she called the manufacturer. She did so right in front of me so I could hear everything and she was correct in her knowledge of the product; but, I thought it was wonderful that she checked.
I have never been so impressed with a doctor ever, and Dr. Winnie Feng is my new standard by which I will hold all my other doctors.
By the way, while Dr. Feng was seeing me, her receptionist had contacted my healthcare provider, calculated cost, and figured out what to do to get the reimbursement I am entitled to! What an amazing experience!
