Review content:
I am getting married next year and have been on the hunt for the perfect gown for about a month or two. I have been in Davids Bridal a few times and have been less than impressed each time, but they had the gown of my dreams so I decided to give them one last chance. The sales girl that was helping me this time was helpful and nice (that is where the praise stops) she pulled the dress and I went back to put it on. I came out and told her I was ready to purchase the dress and so she took me back to meet the seamstess. Now, I am not a small girl... the dress was a size 18 and it fit pretty much perfectly except for the way it sat on my stomach. I had tried on the same dress in a 20 but it would have required more alterations than need be. While I was back with the seamstress she was pinning straps and looking at the length (both needed no alteration) then she looked at the front of the dress and told me that she would need to let it out a little bit... I already knew that so I wasn't shocked. The comment that she made after that is what shocked and appalled me. She said "You know, if you lost some weight I wouldn't need to alter this dress at all." I was boiling inside and the poor sales girl had this look of sheer terror on her face... I looked at them both and told them they had lost themselves a customer and that I wanted to get dressed because I was leaving. I could have blown up, I could have yelled and screamed, but I don't think it would have made a difference. I will instead be calling the general manager later on toay and telling them that I will be looking for "my perfect dress" somewhere else!
