Really now...remember the famous proverb, "If it seems to good to be true then it probably isn't...". Finish a 4-year degree in only 3 years? And it will be equivalent to a 4-year degree at any other university? If it were true, wouldn't everyone do it? Why would anyone go to a 4-year college if they could achieve the same thing in only 3 years? The answer is simple; it isn't true. That 3-year degree at Devry University will be helpful only if you want to move up in your present position. (Having any degree is better than none) - but when you go out into a competitive job market then you will see where a degree from these cheesy online and over-priced short-term colleges really falls down. Devry quoted me $60,000.00 for a 3-year bachelors program in computer science. I attended for a single semester and realized that the real cost to attend Devry full-time was well over $10,000.00/Semester and that student loans only pay for 60% at best so you will be expected to come up with thousands of dollars out of your pocket each semester in addition to what they get out of your student loan plan ($3750./semester for me and that was only for part time!). Most students elect to switch to attend Devry in Part-Time mode once they discover this sad fact but what they are not told that attending Devry part-time will take 7 years to complete that 3-year degree and at a cost well over $100,000.00. If you are going to pay the same or more than the tuition at famous colleges like Stanford and Yale, shouldn't you be getting MORE for your money and not LESS? I believe that Devry actually breaks the law with their underhanded, out and out right dishonest policies of misrepresenting the associated costs with attending Devry as well as the real value of their degree in the marketplace- many of their courses are not transferrable between their school and real universities; no matter what they tell you. They really are criminal... and right out of Chicago! Imagine. Pros: You can tell everyone you are a college student. Cons: Devry itelf is one big "con".
