I never had any problems with this practice until my three year old got a 10 on the hemoglobin test (normal range being 11-14). The nurse never waited for my attention but instead walked in, did the blood prick then left as he began crying without saying a word. When I went back for the follow up I was merely informed the level was still "not 11" and they would have to do a blood draw which meant holding my child down while two vials of blood were taken. The rating, which I found out afterward, was in fact a 10.9 now and demonstrated the iron supplement was working just fine and dandy (normal range is 11-14). They did not tell us the actual rating prior to having this blood draw done but instead reframed it to say "It's not 11". For the blood draw the nurse also told my husband to stop talking to our child because "my job is hard enough". Very disappointed and will not be going back.
