Businiess name:  Franklin's Restaurant Brewery & General Store
Review by:  Marybeth S.
Review content:
After buying Hyattsville Hardware in the early 90s, owner Mike Franklin turned his toy rep business into a gift store boutique with sandwiches and fountain in the back. Ten years later , with the help of local architects, Mike re-opened the space as a *BAR, with hand-hammered copper bar as a foil for brews by Meister Charles Noll; *Local color RESTAURANT serving families and University of Maryland students alike; and finally *Funky GIFT STORE that stocks rubber chickens, card games, over 100 salsas, cool dangly earrings, and even Legos. While the food is uneven, you can find homey comfort food. Wash it down with Twister Turtle Ale or any of the fine, handmade beers.
