I see a lot of less than perfect reviews for this place (most of them from 2011), so it makes me wonder. I had a great experience at Pearl's Place. I was in search of a last-minute Mardi Gras Ball gown, stretching far and wide across Metairie to find one. My friend suggested we go to Pearl's Place because it was where one of her friends got her wedding dress. I figured, "What have I got to lose?" When my friend and I walked in, we started browsing a little until about 20 seconds later, a woman came up to help us (I would also like to note that the place was pretty busy too). Her name was Kim. We told her what I was in search of, and she guided us directly to where we needed to look. I told her that I wasn't looking for anything flashy or gaudy (I like to keep it simple), and she pulled out the most perfect dress. It was my favorite color, and I'm not gonna lie, it looked awesome on me. It was a little out of my price range, but she said she could probably take 10-20% off if I really loved it. The only problem was that it was way too long and would need to be altered. Since I was in a hurry (I needed the dress three days later), I had to pass on it (which broke my heart) because the seamstresses were too backed up with alterations (which are free, by the way). So after that I sulked around looking at the other dresses for a while. They have a lot of really pretty ones. The sizes are pretty small, so you may need someone to help you find one that would fit you appropriately. Long story short, I found the most perfect dress at Pearl's Place, but since I was short on time, I had to look elsewhere (and I can't really fault the seamstresses either; three days is asking a lot).
