WARNING - DO NOT GO HERE - STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE.
I showed up on the evening of 6/11/08 to check in and pick up my keys for the first night of the hotel stay. The "so called manager" bypassed me and took a phone call, even though I was waiting in the lobby right in front of him. He ignored me again and waited on a different customer that came in after me. When I approached him with this, he refused to check me in and give me the keys. He proceeded to tell me I was drunk and that he was going to charge my card for the full amount in spite of my reservations.
NOTE: I pulled up a copy of my credit card statement when I returned home to Florida and it shows that the room was already charged (not being ?held?) but already ?charged? the day I booked it which was three days before my arrival at the Dockside.
My sister (who I was visiting) was with me in the lobby and she said, "call the police". He called the police and the only thing they said I could do when they arrived was to contact my bank and try to get my money back.
When I arrived home, I contacted my bank and they said I would have to contact them again. I did so and was informed I needed to write to their board of directors. I did so and never ever received an acknowledgement.
They kept 3 days worth of my stay and I never even stayed there.
I have never written a review before, and this is my first time. I am writing to let you know you should truly never go here.
The man and this establishment is a money pit. Don't believe their website either. They're just about the only lodging IN Deltaville and they know it. It's a monopoly and a downright disgrace. They should be ashamed of themselve to say the least. T I'm in the process of going to the big 3 B's.
Oh, AND BY THE WAY - I said to him "all I want is my money back." He said, ?that?s what everyone wants?. I said ?everyone? So this has been done before? You?ve kept people?s money?? He didn?t answer me.
Pros: NONE, NADDA, ZILTCH
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT IT (I never got to see the room and they kept my money for 3 nights which they previously charged BEFORE I got there)
