Review content:
This is a treasure. The Coolidge Corner theater is right in the middle of Brookline, and consists of a recently renovated art-deco cinema. There is a small upstairs screening room, a mini theater and then a rather large well-appointed traditional theater space that will take you back to the 1930's. The cinema shows a mixture of recent and older fare, but not first run multiplex stuff. They have film festivals of various kinds (animation, Jewish, Women's, etc). The theater is across the street from a cafe and sits amidst a lot of nice restaurants so this is prime date territory.
