I'm so glad I ran across Essence VIP's website on the internet. I've been living in the Lake Villa/Gurnee area for over a year and had been looking for a salon that wasn't too far away and that knew how to take care of a black woman's hair....very hard to find in my neighborhood. So, when I called the shop, Terez (the ownder) asked me great questions about the current condition of my hair and what my goal was for my hair. I wasn't quite sure of my goal (other than for it to be healthy) but I let her know that I work out often. I just wasn't sure what to do with it because my short cut was growing out and I needed something new, cute and easy. Two (2) days later, I went in for my first appointment. I was a bit nervous. After all, it had been an extremtly long time since I had someone take care of my hair. Terez schooled me on proper care of my hair after workouts and how to maintain it in between visits. My relaxer and haircut turned out wonderful! I was comfortable, I trusted my stylist and enjoyed the warm atmosphere....felt right at home! I am extremely picky about who works on my hair and Terez and her staff put me right at ease. Essence VIP is a Winner!!!!
