Lexington's Food Bank for the Hungry 7/26/2005

For 50 years, God's Pantry has collected and distributed food to the area's food agencies across central and eastern Kentucky. In Fayette County, clients are referred to God's Pantry by a social worker or social service agency. Most of the food God's Pantry receives is donated through America's Second Harvest. Local Kroger grocery stores also have assembled small boxes or bags of food items that a shopper can put in their basket, purchase and then drop off in the blue donation bins right before the exit from the grocery. God's Pantry depends on a lot of volunteer assistance, and you can download a volunteer application form from their web site if you are interested in helping out: http://www.godspantry.org more
