I like this particular bookstore because of the size, location, and quiet atmosphere. If it never really crowded so you can browse titles without being distracted by all the surrounding people. Its a great place to relax with a great book where you can read just enough to realize if you want to buy it or not. The workers are very friendly, always asking if you need help. The prices are a little higher than the chain bookstores, but they have to be to survive. I recommend this bookstore to others especially since its a smaller store.

I was not too satisfied when I shopped at Things Remembered. The store has soem really nice things. I ersonally like the jewerly boxes hat they sell, but everything is really overpriced. I reaserched some of their stock items online and found the exact same things to be at least 1/3 of the price. And teh sakleslady was alittle rude. She was pleasant if she thought you are going to purchase something, but if you decided against a product, she got snippy. I hate salespeople like that. It makes me not want to purchase something just beacuse of their attitude.

In the past few months, I have seen The Village Grill really slip on its weekend breakfast. We used to have to wait an hour for a table on a typical Saturday morning, but now its in and out. I think that the West Portal Block just has more competition of food businesses than it used to. The food here is pretty much the same (good)and the service is good. I like the old fashioned diner theme. Is very cozy. I hope that things can pick up for them.

If you like to buy flowers and along with shopping for cards and stuffed animals then this is a very nice store for you. The flowers are reasonably priced and they offer a large selection of gifts. Most store specialize in just flowers but here you can find a wide array of stuffed animals balloons and beanie babies. They do a particularly good job of wrapping the flowers to look like a dispay . They have nice printed cellophane so your flowers end up looking like a bouquet. This flower shop is very clean and has a wonderful aroma. Most of the flowers are pretty fresh and yo can find a good deal. However, I did not care for the customer service. Some of teh counter persons are friendly. while others are of no help. So I think that it depends on the time of day that you go will determine the service.

I went to Castro Day Spa to get a few spa treatments- facial, massage, etc. for one of their special day spa packages. Their packages are great because you can have multiple treatments without feeling the pinch in your pocket. The price was reasonable- pretty comporable to other spas in the area- made more reasonable by the fact that I bought the package. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was very calming and relaxing. The was very very clean and pleasant. Overall I was quite happy with the spa and I would recommend that you stop in for a nice massage or manicure or something if you are in the area.

I stumbled upon this bakery when I was walking through Chinatown. The aroma that floated through the doors invited me in. I was tantalized by all the yummy desserts, breads, and other food items. I tried the sponge cake. It was very light and fluffy. And the prices were very inexpensive. I will definitely return there for a full cake. The fresh fruit cake looks really good and the prices are great.

We sent my little cousin to Summer Drama Camp beacsue she has visions of becoming a "premiere actress" one day. (those are her exact words). She absolutely loved it. She came back home raving about all the new techniques and styles that she learned. They helped to bring out more of her creative side. The summer camp is moderately priced. (cheaper than some of the orther camps around) I liked it because it just wasn't a time to just play, but if you are into the arts, you can really learn something and at the same time have fun.

My husband and I wanted to try some New Orleans food baecsue this is where we went on our honeymoon. We were in the mood for soem authentic jambayla. We found Creola by searing google. Its a very nice little bistro that serves New Orleans cuisine in San Carlos. They had a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant which was nice. We had to make reservations before so the wait was not very long when we arrived. The server was very driendly. we had the combination meal: yummy jambalya and breaded alligator. I was a little scared, but it was catualy pretty good. wealso had the bread pudding for dessert. I liked the food but I was not too impressed wit the dessert. It was very fancy, but it did not taste like authentic bread pudding. But overall the experience was great. Expect to pay at least 15 dollars per person .

I had a thermal reconditioning done to my hair by Lynn. She has recently come from China and her English is not that good, but she is a sweet person. She did my hair in about 5 hours and charged me 350 dollars. Not bad since most others charge about 100 dollars per hour. However, my hair was not as straight as she promised it to be. It was supposed to be completely straight, but when I washed it and let it dry, it had lot of kinks.I was a little disappointed but I had to live with it. I am now looking for someone that can perform the procedure better.

I cut my hair with Sal a few times and he does a noce job. He is a friendly person and listens to your suggestions. His prices are also pretty reasonable compared to some of teh other hair salons in the area. The only thing is that he is aways late for his appointments. And he does not like to get an early sart. But overall, he does a good job
