Inexpensive & Near the Beach

If you're driving the Pacific Coast Highway and looking for a plain, cheap place to stay, Highland Motel is it. The decor needs updating and there's nothing fancy here. However, everything was clean, the staff was friendly and it didn't cost us a fortune. If you're headed for the beach, you're not going to spend much time in your room anyway, right? Not too far from LAX either if you've got a flight in the morning.
