This is a conveniently located simple yogurt shop about a 2 min walk from the Kirkland library. It's pretty simple - you can select either the plain yogurt or the green tea yogurt and then you are given options for fresh fruit or other toppings like little mochi balls. i usually like to get a few fresh fruit toppings, that'll put you to around $5. It's nice for a sunny summery day - too bad though they don't have outdoor seating to enjoy the yogurt in the sun.

The food portions here are ridiculously large. I can never really finish my meal unless I order something small (they have half portions and full portions) or "normal" like a burger with fries (where i'll only eat a small portion of the fries). Their entrees can feed a small family - i usually end up splitting the Ore Cart with someone else and STILL have leftovers for lunch the next day. The prices can be on the expensive side but then if you divide it by the number of meals it will feed you, then I supposed it's about right. The Prime Discount offers 15% off on your bill. Besides the Ore Cart, I like their Chicken Pot Pie, and their Pot Roast meal. one thing I do like is that while everything else is large, so are the veggies! I enjoy eating their large roasted chunks of veggies as a side. For dessert - if there are a lot of people in the party - we'll generally select the chocolate motherlode cake ( i think this is what it is called) - it has something like 7 layers of chocolate cake with icing all around.

Great place for authentic Japanese bowl of ramen. The soup is the type that has been slow cooked for many hours until it is opaque and the pork is tender and falls apart. You can order the soup to be lean or extra fatty - more fat, more flavour! It is full of flavour and the noodles are just right - you can request if you like your noodles firm or softer. If one bowl of noodles doesn't satisfy you can order extra noodles or sides with your meal. the price ranges from 7 bucks to upwards of 12 (if i remember correctly). There is limited seating, so if you go during busy meal times, be prepared to wait - they dont' accept reservations.

I like the Pacific Science Center because it's a great place to learn for kids. I don't have kids myself but if I did, i would bring them here. The interactive exhibits are great - and they frequently have special exhibits for people who have gone multiple times in the past. I liked the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit last year. When I went this last weekend, they had a real baby calf's brain that you could touch (with gloves). Super cool! Also with Prime Discount, the entrance fee was only $3 and that includes an IMAX film too! Great value!

Unfortunately, if i want to get out of the house after 9pm, this is probably the only place I can go on the eastside. The problem is though that usually I want to get out of the house to go somewhere i can sit in peace and quiet and while this Starbucks location closes late (midnight), it is the local hangout joint for many students. Therefore it is always crowded (rarely do i find parking, i usually have to wait for someone to leave), and it is loud and noisy - chatter of students talking and laughing.
It's not an ideal place if you're looking for the usual calmness and quiet of any other starbucks locations. but it's good if you're looking to get out of your house late at night on a weeknight - or even weekend for that matter.

I come here whenever I feel like an early morning breakfast. It is conveniently located near work and home. I enjoy the fact that they have a lighter breakfast plate - Paul Revere - that includes 3 pancakes, 2 bacon (or I substitute for sausage links), and 2 eggs - for an affordable price of around $6. The old menu used to include a drink but the new menu has that omitted now. Usually I'll get a coffee to go with my meal and the waitresses on staff are good about coming by to offer refills when you need it.
I find the plates to be less greasy than IHOP \ Denny's. It doesn't leave me feeling sick (with grease) afterwards.

My work place bought dinner for the team since they were asking us to work late. Dinner was ordered from Thai Kitchen. I was able to taste their Chicken Phad Thai dish. USually when ordering catered food from a restaurant, the quality takes a dip (unless you're ordering from a restaurant that does this professionally). This is probably expected as the food is put into aluminum trays and arrives hot but by the time the food is announced, you've reached your place in the line to get the food, then seated yourself and finally eat the food, it is luke warm and has lost some of its original appeal. I have to say though that the flavours were intact and the Phad Thai was actually very tastey. I would very much like to go to the restaurnat to sit and dine and see how their food tastes like right out of the kitchen.

This donut shop was only open Fridays to Sundays, 8am to 2pm. Being city folk, this seemed atrocious the first time we arrived at this little house of donuts. This is because we're used to having stores open until at least 6pm. We decided to come back during open hours and we're definitely glad we did. There wasn't an extensive selection of donuts - two shelves. The host gave us some description of the donuts - they have old fashioned style and then the white cake type donuts that are a bit more dense. There were different frosted toppings. THeir specialty items were the Maple Monster Log and their Fritters. We ordered half a dozen of the cake donuts and one of the Monster and Apple Fritter. They were delicious! I am glad that we bought 6 of them and split them between 5 people because we were able to have a bite of each kind. My favourites are the chocolate donut, and the apple fritter.
The host was essentially friendly. She asked us if we had ever been to the donut store before and when we said no, she offered to give us a free butterbar donut to split between the 4 of us.

I went to Westport for a weekend and stayed at the Vacation by the Sea condos. We drove to the Westport docks where restaurants were recommended. Since we arrived later on Friday evening, the Half Moon Bay Bar & Grill was the only restaurant open. it is located at the very end of the docks. We went in mostly because there was nowhere else to eat - I was fearing expensive seafood prices but they were very very reasonable. I ordered the daily special - sea bass seared with lemon and pepper sauce over a bed of fetticini with buttered herb sauce. The meal was served with a cup of your choice of soup or house salad. And plate of bread. All this was for $22! They offered their housemade clam chowder soup - how could I refuse? I'm glad I did't! It was deliciously creamy, just the right amount of seafood, none of the fishy taste, and not too thick. They also have happy hour between 3 and 6pm for $1 pounders. We were going to check out what a pounder was but we didn't make it on time. I would definitely come visit Westport again and when I do, I will definitely come to this restaurant to dine.

Vacations by the sea was an excellent selection. I loved the oceanside view from the living room. I loved the fact that i could sit on the sofa with a book and from time to time look up to a beautiful view. We tried digging for clams but unfortunately came up empty handed. we visited the local Westport ports and the people are extra friendly. There aren't many stores to check out (at least at this time of year - mid march) but the places that are open were enjoyable. I loved the facilities in the kitchen and the rooms were nicely furnished. i didn't check out the amenities in the clubhouse because it was too cold to swim.
i would recommend this to my friends as a place to relax, unwind and rest. it's just over 2 hours from Seattle.
