My father is a ex Navy man,so we grew up around ships and him telling us the history. The USS Constellation is the last Navy built all sail ship and is now anchored in the Baltimore harbor as a museum. The ship is quite a site to see,and we usually include a walk by it on every harbor excursion. They have sxhibits on board as well as a tour.

The Babe Ruth museum is being renovated and expanded and due to finish this year. The museum is located inside the house Babe Ruth was born in1895,so its an authentic landmark. The new exhibits will be about Johnny Unitas,the Baltimore Orioles,Baltimore Colts,Maryland Terrapins,and Baltimore's Negro leagues. The expansion is supposed to continue into Camden Square.

I have been to this zoo several times in the past 10 years,and it hasn't improved. Most of the exhibits are hard for kids in a stroller to see,so I suggest waiting until they are a little older. If your in the mood for a real experience go to the National Zoo in Washington,DC,its a much better zoo. But if your not in the mood for the drive and the kids need a day out,try this zoo. Make sure to pack drinks and food in a cooler,the prices are outrageous in the park.

We love this local beach,its much closer then driving to Ocean City,MD. Call ahead for reservations for one of the pavilions,we like the one closest to the beach and have a family barbeque every year there. There are 2 playgrounds for the kids,a small beach,trees,a pond,and plenty of parking.Its a nominal fee to enter the park per person and they do have senior discounts. Need to getaway for the afternoon,try this out. Just make sure we're not in drought that summer,the seaweed gets fragrant when the water level is down!

We went and browsed this car lot on Wednesday to check out what they had. I was nervous,car dealerships freak me out because I hate the hard sell.Salesmen weren't running after us,and we actually had to look for someone when we wanted to test drive. Only problem,they didn't seem to have anything we wanted,and most of them had scratches or dents. But it was worth the look just to have a pleasant car browsing experience without the rabid saleman type after you.

If I had a quarter for everytime my brother told me about this place,I'd be rich. He found out about it from coworkers who took him for lunch there after he started his job there. So now anytime we want to meet,he suggests this. So I went,and enjoyed it. Great sushi and hibachi grill,I was so stuffed when I left and enjoyed it more then I expected. Now if I could just get him to enjoy other restaurants!

Wonderful Italian food,my mother actually made my father take her here the day before she was induced with me. There are plenty of restaurants in the Little Italy area of Baltimore,but this is one of the most well known. I love the ambiance and food,the fettucine alfredo is some of the best I've ever had. Can't wait until the next time I can drag the family there for some good food.

Great $5.99 whole cheesesteak subs and $5 large cheese pizzas to go,so a quick and relatively cheap dinner for the family compared to the local delivery sub shops. The place has benches to wait for your carryout and video games for the kids or young at heart,and a eat in area. I used to tell my husband to pick up whatever on the way home when he worked in the area since I could call it in.

If your not in the mood for another chain restaurant and want a nice dinner downtown,I say try the Rusty Scupper. Its situated on the quieter side of the Inner Harbor and has a great view. Seafood dishes are always fresh and I love the linguine with clams. Parking can be tricky since your main choice is parking garages or walking from a cheaper parking garage.

If you've ever watched the Preakness,you saw parts of Pimlico race track. Every year it is held there mid May and the 'big thing' in Baltimore besides football and baseball. Personally,I can't believe they have it when the palce is such a mess,but so be it. It was bought by a new owner and they promised big renovations,so I'm hopeful. But if you like horse racing in MD,this is the place to be.
