Perfect for cheap happy hour and large groups

Epitomizeing modern decor, Cafe Asia downtown DC may not be the most luxurious restaurant, but its service and crowd keep things moving. Monday-Friday you'll find $1 nigiri sushi from 4pm-7pm, which is always fresh and served promptly. (Be sure to tally the number you'd like as literal numbers and not hash marks, i.e. "3 spicy tuna," NOT " I I spicy tuna." It's a good way to get eleven instead of three servings!)
Their martini menu, while on the pricier side, offers fun flavors blended nicely. Their prices other than happy hour are moderate, and their menu ranges from basic asian stir-fry to speciality soups and difficult-to-pronounce entrees. Their seaweed salad is among the best I've tried.
So grab a couple friends after work or class and head to Cafe Asia. They fill up fast, but large tables and a bar will ensure you'll eventually find a seat for even a group of 8-10. Beware that the decor encourages loud acoustics, so this is not an intimate dinner setting.
