Meyers Restaurant 4260 South 76 Street Milwaukee WI 53220 414-321-4400 My cousin suggested that we go to Meyers for lunch, I told her as long as it is "kid friendly" I'm there! And off we went. My 2 year old son and I arrived before my cousins. We sat near their hostess desk for nearly 7 minutes without anyone even saying hello. And there were 3 employees at the table, with another 2 that approached the area, looked at us and walked away. Already, I didn't feel like this was a good choice for us. As I was looking around the room to see if maybe my relatives were already seated, I noticed that there were NO children of any age in this place. It's clearly a destination well suited for the typical clientèle aged 60+. Once my cousins arrived, we about to be seated and I asked for a table or a booth that was far away from other diners, so not to have anyone get upset if my son got too loud or messy. We were seated in the middle of a group of diners - not away from anyone. Well, I tried. I asked for a high chair and was told that I COULD NOT sit in a booth with a high chair - ONLY a table. We weren't even seated and I realized how this was not going well. The staff was very unfriendly. Sad to say, but maybe we were too young to be eating here??? Meyers Restaurant offers a large selection of food at reasonable prices. Plus, you can't beat a $1.99 Kids Plate! Awesome deal! (And they DO have a kids menu!!!!) The food was good and very plentiful. Our waitress was friendly and overall we were satisfied. But a couple of things would hold me back from coming again. Besides the lack of attention we received and the unfriendly staff, my requested were not considered. Since I didn't want my son to bother other patrons, the hostess sat customers all around us when there were many empty seats throughout their dining room. I didn't get it. And then I didn't let it bother me. My little guy is basically pretty good in public, but with two year olds - you can never tell. Also, my cousin discovered a nice shade of lipstick on her coffee cup. Too bad it wasn't her shade. Ewwww. Food was good - but too many things didn't work for me. Next time I'll pass, unless I'm with my mother's Red Hat Club and I leave my little one at home. Maybe . . . . but then again - maybe not!
