NW Community Yoga is the perfect community yoga center. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, this small studio provides everything I need to regain center. The instructors are some of the best I've encountered. They are blessed with skills to gently lead a class at any level and guide a new or experienced yogi toward new levels.
I've taken regular classes with Diane for quite a while and recently begun to explore other instructors. They've all been wonderful.
The studio offers a variety of classes at various hours of the day. Too, they offer a variety of purchasing options from inexpensive drop in rates to discounted monthly or yearly user cards. I've never run into a class too full, and I've always come away feeling stronger, more centered and healthier.
Also, the special workshops are always worth the small extra cost!
If you're expecting a gym environment, this isn't the studio for you. If you like a quiet, private, intimate experience, this is the perfect studio for anyone in Ballard/Greenwood/Phinney Ridge area!

I've had great experience with the folks at Turgeon-Raine. They provided me with a professional appraisal of some jewlery that I inherited, which they also resized, cleaned, and repaired. They keep a copy of the appraisal on hand and will provide it to your insurance company directly (as well as providing you with a copy).
They provided a professional atmosphere with down-to-earth (not snobby) service in a very upscale environment. They finished my work early and stayed in touch throughout the process.

Their plain croissants, served with homemade jam & butter, are to die for (and might just kill you based on butter fat content alone). The pain au chocolat is an amazing treat, especially if you get them fresh out of the oven, with melting chocolate and crispy, flaky pastry. If you want something a little richer, try the ham & swiss pastry or the caramelized onion & cheese pastry. Want something fruity? They've always got a seasonal fruit pastry -- blueberry or nectarine summer pastries look heavenly.
And, absolutely, don't miss the coffee! Served in big bowls, fresh, hot & made to order perfectly, this is truly a coffee lover's heaven.

I've been a client of Ted Louis at Eyes on Fremont for several years now. The staff is great. The services and attention to detail is also great. They have a wide selection of glasses that all seem pretty hip. I'm more of a contacts wearer myself.
Dr. Louis offers personalized services in a clean and private atmosphere (apart from the busy glasses sales area). He has suggested new products but never pushes me to buy from him directly; he knows there are good deals available online.
