Arris' Pizza Palace is one of those place where people from 10 to 100 have probably been there at least once. If you are 50, you've been there more times than you can count. Owned by a Greek family, this is the real stuff. If you like the gooey, loaded Pizza, pass by the supreme and order Georgia's Special. It's not health food (but then this isn't a salad bar) but has tomatoes and bacon and loaded with cheese. Just the smell from the street will draw you in.

Steven Huber, DDS, is the place to go if your child needs braces. Although he is very professional in his talent, his demeaner is very comforting to both the child and the parent. He takes away the fear of the child of having to wear all the mouthgear for several years, and, in fact, makes if very cool to be a braces wearer. This is not to say that he won't make it very exciting on the day when the braces come out, taking after pictures and comparing them with before pictures!

Whaley's Pharmacy has been in business for so long that I knew it when since the 1950's. The very neat thing about Whaley's Pharmacy on the east end of Jefferson City is that they still serve fountain drinks, right out of the fountain! You can add cherry or vanilla flavoring to whatever your choice soft drink is, and it's very cool to watch them mix it in the same manner they did fifty years ago. It's also a great way to bring some nostalgia to your kids.

Show Me Yoga, run by Jan Hauser and a group of others, has to be one of the most relaxing businesses within miles of the state capitol of Missouri. It is up several flights of stairs in a building built in 1889 with no elevator, so you have to be in somewhat decent physical shape to go to the main classes. They do offer classes at the local YMCA and at times in other locations.

The quality of her work is excellent, and her prices are much more reasonable than some of the local photographers. The big drawback is that she is outside of the town of Eldon, and you MUST get directions before you even try to find it.
