This is known as a higher end department store so I never went in the store until very recently. Lord n Taylor will have some coupons in the paper and it's a great place to find shoes. They were very helpful even when it was busy the last time I went. The coupons are for an additional 20 to 30% off of the sale price.

It's a great place to buy wedding gifts and they have a gift wrap service that does a wonderful job. They are always kind and helpful. The kid's sales are the best and they have clearance shoe sales that you won't want to miss.

I have heard that many people find great deals on shoes, clothes, and accessories but I have had little luck. The store is quite big and messy and you have to spend a lot of time looking through racks and racks of clothing. If you are one to return to stores on a regular basis, I'm sure you could find some nice deals here because they are always replenishing their store with new shipments.

Jo-Ann Fabrics offers pretty competitive prices. I was not very impressed with their yarn supply however. They did not offer a wide selection. They have a decent selection of fabric styles. I was surprised at how much craft supplies and materials they had. This is a great place for teachers to find materials for school arts and crafts.

Northwestern's library is beautiful and it's a great place to study. You get a great view of Lake Michigan. There's a lot of room and it's a peaceful place to study ore read a book. In the summer months it's nice to just take a walk around the campus. You don't have to be a student to study on the campus library.

I don't usually like outlet stores but if you are looking for a pair of designer jeans at a cheap place, check out Nordstrom rack. I have purchased Lucky Brand Jeans and Miss Sixty jeans for $20! The store is a bit chaotic and you have to search for deals but you are bound to find one. They get new shipments on a weekly basis.

I personally don't go to Navy Pier but if you have friends visiting out of town it could be a fun place to go to. If they have kids, there is also a children's museum area. It gets a bit expensive considering you have to pay for parking as well. They do have great live music playing mostly during the summer. Winters are fun because they set up an ice-skating rink as well.

I don't enjoy going shopping but when I do, I will usually go to Old Orchard Shopping Center during the warmer months because it is outdoors. Their are plenty of restaurants and all the stores that I like are in the mall. They have little seating areas and fountains that make it very peaceful so it's nice to just take a stroll with a friend.

Music Box is probably one of my favorite theaters to go to in the city. The theater is re-modeled and it looks beautiful. You really feel like you are in the old times. They play great classic films and indie films if you are into that. It's really neat because sometimes they show films with organ music. They also have a discount card that you should get if you go there frequently.
