I have been to Jungle Cuts a number of times. Each time, the stylists have done a good job on my child's hair. I imagine they are a great place to bring children who wiggle or are uncomfortable with having their hair cut. My child doesn't particularly enjoy hair cuts, but has done well for each visit at Jungle Cuts.
However, I have found the service to be unprofessional and disorganized. I have often faced terribly long waits (even with an appointment) on Saturdays. One time we waited 45 minutes after our appointment time. This just will not do with small children. Clearly, there are some time management issues at this salon.
I've even come in when it is empty and been told they couldn't cut my child's hair because they had upcoming appointments. This is fine, but in the time we spent talking about it, they could have been halfway through the haircut. Honestly, I got the feeling the stylist didn't want our business. It was very strange. It seemed like she just didn't feel like working. I could be wrong, but based on my other experiences at this salon with a lack of professionalism, I can't write off my impression.
I'm going to try Mop Tops instead next time. I will not be returning to Jungle Cuts after these less than impressive experiences. I know I can't expect the type of service my children and I deserve at this salon. It's too bad because there is so much potential here: the hair cuts have been good, the prices are fair, the salon is cute (though the toy area could be nicer). But, service is extremely important and will make up for other failings. Unfortunately, that is the one area where failure is unacceptable - an "D" for service in what is essentially a service industry. I don't give them an "F" because they've never been rude, just lackluster.
