Whole Foods Market is gorgeous and has great food. Prepared foods are very nice (except the roast chickens, steer clear of those), as are the baked goods (so good!). Produce is gorgeous, meat is very nice (and with prices to match). Try the pre-marinated meats - great grill time savers. They also have a nice wine, beer and cider selection. The cheese selection is extensive and the people who work the cheese counter are knowledgeable and helpful.

The Spa at Olympic Athletic Club is a great choice for a massage and non-members are welcome! Heather McRobbie is an absolutely wonderful therapist and I've heard great things about the other therapists there as well. The massage rooms are wonderful little sanctuaries in the gym and there are showers right across the hall (womens) or downstairs (men) for a before or after massage rinse off. The women's locker room also has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (not sure about the men's) that you can use.

Cafe SolMar is a new cafe/restaurant in Ballard. It's on the ground floor of the newish SolMar condo building (a block from Market, 15th and the Post Office). The Cafe has great coffee (a tad on the spendy side but very good), baked goods, sandwiches, beer, wine, etc. Also free wifi. The few times I've been there to study they've been great - lots of light, outlets available, music not too loud and no other people angling for your table. I haven't tried their food, but the menu looks very good.

Tony's Greenwood Auto (and Auto Body) is an excellent place to take your car. Tony is extremely knowledgeable, hardworking and honest. Women: you don't have to be afraid of being overcharged here! When my radiator cracked I freaked out and had to find a mechanic ASAP. Luckily a friend recommended Tony. I called and he got me in the very next day (even came in a bit early so I could drop off my car in time to take the bus into work). He gave me an estimate on the phone and talked me through all the components. The repair was done on time and Tony was great. I'll be taking my car back here every time.

The City of Seattle offers tennis lessons for kids and adults (private and group lessons) as well as court rentals. The facility is convenient and has free parking. They have 10 indoor and 4 outdoor courts. The lessons are great - I took a beginner adult lesson with 4 other people and learned a ton. Their instructors are wonderful and the facility is very nice. Rates are very reasonable ($45/hr for private or $65 for a 6-week group course).
There is a lottery to get into the lessons, but I had no problem getting the lesson I wanted.
