Finally a cool and cozy coffeehouse in the South. They sell Victrola Coffee, pastries, soups and sandwiches. It's got something for everyone whether you are a student, professional or a mom with kids in tow. Entertaining art on the walls, comfy couches, big tables, and fun music. Lots of free street parking too! Go support the only cool coffeehouse in the area! We deserve to have one.

This a great place to go after a ferry ride from Seattle. It is located on the main street in Winslow and is within walking distance from the ferry. I had a whole grain pecan sticky bun and it was delicious. It was hard to pick because everything looked soooo good. They had beautiful cakes and pies also.

I wish there were wading pools on the Eastside like this! Our favorite is Wallingford but we haven't checked out very many. My son loves that he can get in as deep as he wants. There is a gradual slope on one end and the deeper part is sectioned off by stone columns that are fun to maneuver across too. There are benches and a nice grassy slope to sit on. The pool area is recessed from the street so you don't have to walk far and you don't have to worry about little ones running off.
A word of caution- Keep a good eye on the little ones even in shallow water. When my son was 14 months old he fell in water that was probably knee high and didn't know yet to stand back up. He was squatting with his hands and feet touching the bottom of the pool and his face in the water. Luckily I was standing right there with him but it was scary to see how kids can drown in shallow water.
I agree with the other poster that it would be nice if they opened the pool earlier!

Everett is a bit of a haul for us but this museum is worth it. It just opened recently so it is much nicer than the Seattle Children's Museum. It is a little on the small side but there is plenty to keep your toddler busy for a couple hours. There is a fun treehouse, toddler play area with padded sand castles to climb and slide. The water area was closed while we were there but it looked like alot of fun. The train room with a Thomas train table and a model train you can control was a big hit of course too!

I went to Fairwood Nails for the first time on Sunday. The pedicure was only $20!! It is a no frills environment but still relaxing. You sit in the typical vibrating chair with your feet in the foot tub. She was very thorough and gave a nice foot and leg massage. My toes look so pretty!

XXX Rootbeer is quite the site. The restaurant is bursting out the seems with car memorabilia. Very fun for kids...and husbands! The burgers are sooo messy and full of flavor. The onions rings are crisp and sweet. The rootbeer comes in a big frosty mug...hits the spot. My only complaint is they charge 85 cents more for rootbeer without ice??? Seems kinda silly.

The Fremont Jai Thai has been my favorite place for Thai since Angel's on Broadway went down hill. Angel's is now the Broadway Jai Thai but the food wasn't very good. The Belltown Jai Thai is good but it is so dark that you can't even see your food. That was a year ago so it may be better now.

After ordering delivery or heading to the slice bar in Capitol Hill and Lower Queen Anne for years I was happy to see them head to the Eastside. The restaurant in Bellevue does not have pizza by the slice but it is a great place to go with the family. I ordered my usual Pesto Salad and we shared a Chicken Primo Pizza. The service was perfect and the atmosphere was fun. My son and I shared chocolate and raspberry gelato for dessert. It was a little pricey but we don't mind paying for a flawless dinner.
