I go to work, cook dinner for my husband and children, and balance my checkbook every month (well, may be I'm not THAT normal!), but football season comes, and every year my heart is full of hope- may be this will be my year. If you're one too, I feel your pain. Today is the best day of my Lions life, because we're in second place!

Since Monday Night Football moved to ESPN and I am cable-less, I've started to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to enjoy the game. The food is great "football chow." I'm a, so I don't dig the wings, but my family consumes them by the truckload! They have a ton of different sauces to choose from. Just be careful you enunciate- MILD and WILD sound awfully similar!! Check them out!

I'm a used computer junkie, and I used to be able to go to Discount Computers for all of my needs. The deals used to be awesome. Unfortunately, they are now into more of the new stuff, so I often leave empty handed! On the plus side, their tech and repair services are still top-notch, and they do have reasonably priced new components! All in all, it's still worth a shot!

Although I don't drink, I love Dearborn Heights Liquor. It's a little place that is stuffed to the brim with "stuff." There aren't many places you can go to where you can find a bottle of booze and a picture of Elvis! I like to go here to just browse and I almost always find something interesting to purchase. The people who work there are very nice, and the place is clean, even though it is a little crowded and dark. Still, it's worth the trip!

I don't know about you, but my CVS pharmacist is always so busy that I rarely ask questions. At Ford-Tel that's not a problem. The pharmacist on duty always takes time to answer my questions, and they will even come to the shelf to offer additional help. They are fast, super friendly, and will sometimes offer other places to go if they don't have what I need. All in all, it's worth the time it takes to drive there (I can walk to the CVS) because of their care and professionalism.

Carini's Italian Bakery is right on a fairly busy road and if you blink you'll definitely miss it! But if you want to sample some genuine Italian cookies or indulge in the best cannoli ever, then you should be sure to keep your eyes peeled! The woman who waited on me barely spoke English, but it didn't matter because the food was just great. The cannoli shells were very crispy with lots of powdered sugar, and the filling was just sweet enough! I would highly recommend stopping here next time you're in the neighborhood!

Connor's has been around FOREVER! My 90 year old great-aunt used to go there long ago, and the specials are still the same! There are a lot of regulars and the food is so-so. The waitstaff is kind of brusque, but that's what everyone expects. I'm not crazy about it, but a lot of people like it, because it's always pretty crowded. There is a Quizno's right next door, so a lot of times we order sandwiches there and french fries at Connor's to go and take everything home! Saves on the tip!

It's probably not what you think- it's even worse! My husband and I used to go to Al Shallal every Friday for our "date night." The food was great- I don't like my tabbouleh with a lot of oil, so they made it special for me! I would always have the vegetarian platter and they would have it waiting for us. One day when I was sick, my husband went and got food for himself, and they were so nice that they added a rice pudding to make me feel better! It was the best rice pudding I ever ate! Well, a few weeks went by and we didn't go, and suddenly my husband is too scared to go back! He says it wouldn't look right. So if your in the area, and in the mood for great middle eastern food, go to Al Shallal and have a rice pudding for me!

I took my 90 year old aunt, and two children to Red Robin's for lunch yesterday. It was great! The place is very clean and airy, and the decor is nice too. I joined the email club and got an email for a free hamburger to celebrate my aunt's birthday tomorrow, so it was very reasonable. It's not McDonald's cheap, but it was also not McD's quality- it was really, really good. I love that you can substitute a Boca Burger or a Gardenburger for any entrée, and you get unlimited steak cut french fries. The only bad thing is that my son loves rare steak, and they won't cook the sirloin on the menu that way. Still, all in all it was really nice, and they even sang to my aunt!

CiCi's is relatively new, and still has that sparkle to it! It is a REALLY CHEAP pizza buffet that puts Pizza Hut's to shame. If they don't have the kind of pizza that you want, they'll make you one! The cinnamon rolls are out of this world. They also have picnic tables to sit on in the back and a small game room that I haven't been to. The cooks and workers always say hi and bye and stop in again- they are very friendly (sometimes too friendly, but I'm such a grouch!) All in all, it is a great place- you'll leave with your belly and wallet full, so that's a double bonus!
